Dressing Up Candy Jars

Posted by Rejoice on 5/8/2011 to Glass Containers

Candy jars are a natural hit. With their versatility, they are easily loved and valued. These are novelty assets that can even be passed on from generation to generation especially if you have the durable ones and when handled carefully.

As part of clan heritage, glass candy jars in novelty designs are great containers for jewelries, baby clothes, handkerchiefs, letters and/or other paraphernalia with sentimental value. But as the passing on remains, you can add more meaningful touches by personalizing these antiquated assets.

1.       Etching. Go to the nearest glass etching shops and have your jar etched with your name. A one-liner message or thought would be very nice. Your growing kids would love it. This can also be done with wedding favors—get those small sized yet very pretty glass candy jars to send out your love.

2.        Engraving. Engraving names and messages are a lot more lasting. Have your names or the celebrant’s name engraved on the gift container. This one, he/she could not easily give it away to others.

3.       Scribbling. These days, we live in a world of innovation. And much to that, we now have colored markers which we can use to scribble messages to our family members or friends that celebrate a milestone. Gold, silver and other metallic permanent markers are also available—making the candy jar more personalized and sweet.

4.       Painting. Acrylic and enamel paints are great media in painting glass jars. Fabric paints can even be used, too! Paint the loveliest design that will send your message to the recepient.

5.       Gluing. You can glue beads, cloth, metal or plastic embellishments, cardstock, ribbons, buttons, and rhinestones. It is like scrapbooking on a  glass jar! Yes, you can have an altered jar! So ready your glue or glue stick for an exciting project.

6.       Other labeling. Dressed up jars can be wear necklaces, too. So, get vintage necklaces and tie them around the jar. To be more economical, tie a string and attach a a trinklet that will serve as pendant. Attach tags so you can write messages or the name of the recipient.

From simple to lavish and elaborate alterations, your candy jars can become personalized. Yes, these days, remembering loved ones goes beyond bouquets of flowers or cards. Get your messages and gifts in a candy jar. Fill the candy jar with flowers and confetti while you keep the cover aerated (just to keep the flower’s life longer). For hard core sentimentalists, they keep flowers preserved. So the jar can automatically become the beauty’s home.

For candy, clothing or accessories shops, get candy your candy jars dressed up and sit them on decorative cupboards or corners. Sure, you’d like to have a store that is embellished with decors that build rapport with your clients!
